A planned Sharjah road closure will take place this weekend to facilitate ongoing infrastructure development in the area. The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure confirmed the temporary closure, which aims to support progress in Sharjah’s road network.
Authorities will fully close Al Jamaa Road and the adjacent service road at Al Badiya Interchange, heading toward Dubai (Emirates Road), to traffic. This closure begins at 1:00am on Saturday, 26 July 2025. It will remain in effect until 5:00am on Monday, 28 July 2025.
The Ministry said this measure is essential to carry out planned upgrades that will improve road safety and traffic flow. As part of the strategy, authorities will reroute traffic during the closure period. They will divert vehicles westbound via Al Hoshi Bridge on Maliha Road.
Furthermore, authorities will place signage along the affected routes to guide drivers to alternative paths. Authorities urge all motorists to follow the instructions carefully and allow extra travel time.
According to officials, this closure is part of a broader effort to enhance national infrastructure. The Ministry noted that such temporary disruptions are necessary for long-term improvement and public benefit.
In addition, the government stressed that it scheduled the works during the weekend to minimize inconvenience for weekday commuters. By completing the upgrades within a limited timeframe, authorities hope to reduce the impact on daily traffic.
Motorists traveling to and from Dubai are advised to plan accordingly. The Ministry encouraged drivers to check for updates through official channels and traffic alerts.
Previously, authorities announced similar road closures in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain as part of separate development projects. These efforts reflect a coordinated push across the Emirates to modernize transportation links.
Meanwhile, emergency services and critical vehicles will have access through alternate routes to maintain response efficiency. Authorities are monitoring traffic conditions and will adjust diversion points if needed.
The Sharjah road closure highlights the government’s commitment to maintaining and improving essential infrastructure. Road users are asked to cooperate fully with detour plans during this short disruption.
As the Sharjah road closure approaches, authorities remind travelers to remain alert and drive safely through redirected routes.
