Saudia Airlines and the Aseer Development Authority have signed a major tourism agreement to boost travel to the Aseer Region. It marks a new step in Saudi Arabia’s tourism growth strategy.
Under the agreement, Saudia will launch seasonal campaigns to promote spring, summer, and winter travel. These efforts aim to increase bookings and attract more visitors to the mountainous and culturally rich region of Aseer. The airline confirmed the plan aligns with its goal to promote sustainable tourism in Saudi Arabia.
“This strategic partnership with Saudia represents a qualitative leap in our efforts to develop Aseer as a global tourist destination,” said Hashem Al-Dabbagh, Acting CEO of the Aseer Development Authority. He added that the collaboration will support regional economic development.
Arved von zur Muehlen, Chief Commercial Officer of Saudia, said the airline will use its international network to showcase Aseer’s natural and cultural attractions. “We are pleased to partner with the authority,” he noted, “to highlight the beauty and vibrant culture of Aseer Region. We aim to integrate it into our broader strategy.”
The partnership supports Saudi Arabia’s National Transport and Logistics Strategy. This initiative forms a key part of the Vision 2030 plan, which aims to welcome 330 million annual visitors by the end of the decade. The Aseer agreement strengthens these efforts. It helps to promote sustainable tourism in Saudi Arabia through targeted air travel campaigns.
The deal signals a growing focus on regional tourism partnerships. It reflects Saudi Arabia’s wider vision to diversify its economy, expand travel infrastructure, and build globally recognized tourism hubs.
