Saudi Reaffirms Support For Syria After Damascus Attack

Saudi Arabia has reaffirmed its support for Syria’s security and stability following the recent terrorist bombing in Damascus, while pledging closer security cooperation between the two countries.

Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif conveyed the Kingdom’s position during a phone call with Syrian Interior Minister Anas Khattab on Saturday.

During the conversation, Prince Abdulaziz strongly condemned the attack in the Syrian capital and expressed Saudi Arabia’s solidarity with Syria in confronting terrorism, extremism and violence.

The two ministers also reviewed bilateral relations and discussed the latest security developments in Syria, with particular focus on the recent bombing in Damascus.

They agreed to strengthen coordination and cooperation between the interior ministries of both countries and exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest.
