Riyadh will host the 4th Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum on Monday, with leaders, donors, humanitarian workers, and experts from around the globe coming together to address the challenges faced by humanitarian aid agencies. The event is organized by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the organization.
Discussions will focus on key issues such as humanitarian diplomacy in conflict zones, improving access to aid and supply chains, and tackling displacement amidst escalating conflicts and natural disasters. According to KSrelief Supervisor General Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, the forum will also address the global displacement crisis, citing the UN Refugee Agency’s 2024 mid-year report, which revealed that over 122.6 million people worldwide were forcibly displaced due to various crises.
Throughout the two-day event, KSrelief plans to sign several agreements with international organizations to advance Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian initiatives. Additionally, a hackathon titled “Artificial Intelligence in Humanitarian Relief,” in collaboration with Alfaisal University, will explore AI-driven solutions to improve healthcare in humanitarian contexts.
Since its inception in 2015, KSrelief has executed over 2,670 projects valued at more than $6.5 billion across 95 countries, primarily supporting Yemen, Syria, Palestine, and Somalia. These projects focus on a wide range of sectors, including food security, healthcare, education, and infrastructure, in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.
