Saudi Arabia’s Participation in the 50th Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions

The Saudi Ministry of Education (MOE) is preparing to participate in the prestigious 50th Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions. The event is set to take place in Geneva, Switzerland, from April 9 to 13. The Kingdom will showcase 134 inventions, competing alongside over 1,000 innovations from 35 countries.

Of the Saudi exhibitors, 80% will represent universities and companies. The remaining 20% will consist of private-sector inventors and researchers. This diverse representation highlights Saudi Arabia’s commitment to fostering innovation across various sectors.

The Saudi delegation will include 161 students—both male and female—representing general education, universities, and technical training institutions. Moreover, this diverse group reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to inclusive educational development across all sectors. These students, along with their faculty mentors, will participate in a competition for seven major awards. Categories range from marine safety and environmental technology to healthcare, robotics, and artificial intelligence.

Prof. Nasser Al-Aqili, Deputy Minister for International Cooperation and head of the Saudi delegation, emphasized the significance of this event. He pointed out that the country’s involvement reflects its ongoing efforts to support talented students. The participation aims to enhance student involvement in global scientific forums. It aligns their work with national priorities in research, development, and innovation.

In preparation for the exhibition, the MOE organized specialized training programs. These programs help students effectively communicate on the international stage. One such session was hosted in Riyadh in collaboration with the Salam Project for Cultural Communication. Additionally, the King Salman Science Oasis collaborated with the ministry to organize a series of workshops.

Saudi Arabia’s participation in the Geneva exhibition represents a significant step forward in promoting the country’s creative talents and supporting its young innovators. By providing these students with opportunities to showcase their inventions, Saudi Arabia continues to align its educational and research priorities with the global scientific community.
