Saudi Arabia Unveils AI Tourism Vision

Saudi Arabia has launched its AI Tourism Vision, a national strategy aimed at transforming the tourism sector through artificial intelligence, digital innovation and smarter visitor services.

Announced by the Ministry of Tourism, the initiative seeks to improve the travel experience, support tourism businesses and investors, and strengthen the Kingdom’s position as a global centre for tourism innovation.

The strategy outlines plans to integrate AI across the tourism ecosystem, from visitor services to business operations, while equipping tourism professionals with advanced digital tools to improve efficiency and service quality.

As part of the initiative, the ministry introduced TourismX, a global platform that provides AI-powered tools for tourism businesses. The platform includes applications designed to assist with hotel design, operational planning, branding, menu creation, tour guiding and travel content.

The ministry also launched the beta version of the Saudi MT App, bringing together digital services for investors, tourism operators and tour guides through a single platform supported by an AI assistant named Noura.

To encourage innovation, the ministry unveiled the MT Developer Portal, which allows developers and technology partners to build digital solutions using the ministry’s application programming interfaces (APIs).

Tourism Minister Ahmed Al-Khateeb said artificial intelligence is reshaping how destinations are managed and experienced, adding that the Kingdom aims to become a global benchmark for smart tourism through technology-driven services.

The initiative builds on Saudi Arabia’s wider digital transformation efforts during the Year of AI 2026 and supports the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to diversify the economy and establish tourism as a key driver of growth.
