Saudi Arabia Releases 2024 Vision 2030 Report, Celebrating Major Milestones

Saudi Arabia has released its 2024 annual report for Vision 2030, marking the ninth year since the launch of the Kingdom’s ambitious national plan.
The initiative aims to transform Saudi Arabia into a global model for development, economic growth, and social advancement.

The report provides a comprehensive evaluation of achievements to date, using a wide range of key performance indicators (KPIs) tied to Vision 2030 goals.

According to the report, 93 percent of Vision 2030 KPIs have either achieved, exceeded, or are close to reaching their interim targets.
Since the Vision’s inception, 674 out of 1,502 initiatives have been completed.
As of the end of 2024, 85 percent of initiatives are either completed or progressing on track.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz expressed deep pride in the Kingdom’s progress.
“We take great pride in the achievements our nation has realized in less than a decade,” he said.
“Saudi Arabia has transformed into a global model of change across all levels.”

King Salman reaffirmed future ambitions, pledging sustainable development for future generations and greater growth ahead.

Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman also praised the nation’s achievements.
“We take pride in the achievements of our sons and daughters,” he said.
“They have proven that challenges cannot stand in the way of their ambitions.”
He emphasized that many targets have been met or exceeded and renewed the leadership’s commitment to continued progress.

“We renew our commitment to doubling efforts, accelerating execution, and strengthening the Kingdom’s position on the global stage,” the Crown Prince added.

The report detailed progress across various sectors.
Eight KPIs have already surpassed their 2030 targets ahead of schedule.
These include registering Saudi heritage sites on UNESCO’s World Heritage List and reducing the national unemployment rate.

Female participation in the workforce has reached 33.5 percent, surpassing the 30 percent target.
Volunteer numbers have also grown, exceeding 1.2 million by the end of 2024.

Saudi Arabia has established more than 571 regional headquarters for global companies.
Tourist arrivals have already surpassed the 100 million target set for 2030.

The Kingdom advanced significantly in global digital governance rankings.
It ranked seventh in the UN E-Participation Index and sixth in the UN E-Government Development Index.

The report also highlighted that 24 indicators have exceeded their 2024 interim targets.
These include strong private sector contributions to GDP, rising Saudi home ownership rates, healthcare service improvements, and an expanded Public Investment Fund (PIF) asset portfolio.

Five additional indicators, such as foreign direct investment and the number of top-ranked Saudi universities, have achieved their interim goals.

Several key indicators are close to full achievement, performing between 85 percent and 99 percent.
These include non-oil GDP growth, local content contribution, and Saudi Arabia’s ranking on the World Happiness Index.

The report also acknowledged challenges.
Three indicators have not yet met their targets: environmental performance, Saudi cities’ global livability rankings, and the share of non-oil exports in GDP.

It emphasized that these areas are under continuous review, with focused programs designed to drive future progress.
