Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan strongly rejected proposals for the forced displacement of Palestinians during a meeting on Friday. Speaking at the Ministerial Committee for International Action to End the War on Gaza in Antalya, Turkey, Prince Faisal emphasized the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, where residents are deprived of basic necessities.
The minister reiterated Saudi Arabia’s stance against any plan that involves removing Palestinians from their land. He expressed concern over efforts to link the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza to a ceasefire, urging the international community to ensure unimpeded delivery of aid to those in need.
Prince Faisal reaffirmed the Kingdom’s support for ongoing ceasefire negotiations, commending the mediation efforts led by Egypt and Qatar. He called for intensified global efforts to secure lasting peace and humanitarian assistance in Gaza.
A joint communiqué issued after the meeting condemned all forms of forced displacement or expulsion of Palestinians from Gaza, the West Bank, or East Jerusalem. The statement also reiterated support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and called for the unification of Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, under the Palestinian Authority.
The committee also stressed the importance of an immediate and permanent ceasefire, in line with UN resolutions. It condemned Israeli actions in the occupied territories, including settlement expansion, home demolitions, and land confiscations, which violate international law.
Saudi Arabia’s position aligns with its broader commitment to Palestinian rights and the pursuit of a just and lasting peace in the region. The Kingdom continues to advocate for the protection of Palestinian civilians and the restoration of their land and dignity.
