RIYADH: Saudi Arabia strongly condemned the recent Israeli air strikes in southern Syria, describing them as attempts to destabilize the region’s security and stability. The Kingdom also criticized the strikes as repeated violations of international law, according to a statement from the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On Tuesday, the Israeli army conducted air strikes targeting military sites in southern Syria, including command centers and weapon depots, shortly after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for the demilitarization of the area. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) did not specify the exact locations of the strikes.
In response, Saudi Arabia expressed solidarity with the Syrian government and people, calling on the international community to take responsibility in halting Israeli actions that threaten regional security and stability, and to prevent further escalation of the conflict. The Kingdom has consistently warned against the intensification of tensions in the region.
