Riders from 35 Nations Set for Thrilling H H The Amir Sword Equestrian Festival

Doha, Qatar – The H H The Amir Sword International Equestrian Festival 2025 begins today at Al Shaqab. The event brings together 194 riders from 35 countries for a thrilling three-day competition in showjumping and dressage. Running alongside the H H The Amir Sword Horse Racing Festival at Al Rayyan Racecourse, the event promises an action-packed weekend for equestrian fans.

With a €718,000 prize pool, the festival will feature 26 events across Al Shaqab’s Longines indoor and outdoor arenas. Over 350 horses will be competing. Among the participants are 95 Qatari riders, 30 from Saudi Arabia, and 39 from Europe, including past champions Hamad Nasser Al Qadi and Ghanim Nasser Al Qadi. Defending titleholder Santiago Lambre of Brazil is also set to compete.

A World-Class Event for Qatar’s Equestrian Growth

Organized by the Qatar Equestrian Federation (QEF), Al Shaqab, and the Qatar Olympic Committee, the festival continues to grow in global stature.  QEF President Badr bin Mohammed Al Darwish highlighted its significance, stating:

“The festival is one of the most prestigious events in the International Equestrian Championships – Qatar 2025 series, reinforcing Qatar’s leadership in equestrian sport and providing local riders with an opportunity to compete against the world’s best.”

Exciting Competitions & Fan Experience

The festival’s CSI5 Grand Prix event* is the prestigious H H The Amir Sword – CSI5 1.60m Jump Off*. It will take place on Saturday, promising a thrilling finale. The competition schedule includes:

  • One-star and three-star events (up to 145cm)
  • CSI five-star rounds (145-150cm)
  • Dressage competitions, including the St. George classification

Fans attending the festival can enjoy a dedicated public area featuring entertainment, food stalls, cafes, shops, and cultural exhibits. Additional attractions include:

  • Children’s games & visual arts section
  • Riders’ Corner overlooking the competition
  • Qatari hospitality showcases

Tickets & Access

Tickets are available via Q-Tickets, with general admission starting at QR50 for adults and QR25 for children (free for kids under 7).  VIP hospitality packages are also available. They offer premium seating and valet parking.
