Regional Powers Unite Against Israel’s West Bank Moves

Regional foreign ministers have strongly condemned recent Israeli decisions threatening Palestinian sovereignty. The ministers, from the UAE, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, expressed serious concern over measures aimed at imposing Israeli control over the West Bank.

The officials warned that these steps accelerate illegal annexation attempts and risk displacing Palestinian communities. They stressed that Israel has no legitimate sovereignty over occupied Palestinian territory. Such moves undermine peace efforts and violate international law, they emphasized.

The ministers also highlighted that the expansion of Israeli settlements worsens regional tensions. They affirmed that these policies directly threaten the two-state solution and hinder the Palestinians’ right to an independent state. Furthermore, they noted that the ongoing occupation violates UN Security Council Resolution 2334 and the 2024 advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice.

In addition, the ministers urged the international community to act decisively. They called on nations to pressure Israel to stop escalating measures and inflammatory rhetoric. They stressed that global action is essential to uphold Palestinian sovereignty and prevent further conflict in the region.

The coalition reiterated that a sustainable peace depends on fulfilling Palestinians’ right to self-determination. They affirmed that a two-state solution, based on internationally recognized borders and the Arab Peace Initiative, remains the only path to stability. Moreover, the ministers emphasized that East Jerusalem must remain the capital of a future Palestinian state.

They concluded by reaffirming the importance of diplomacy, dialogue, and cooperation among regional actors. The ministers highlighted that protecting Palestinian sovereignty is a shared responsibility that requires sustained international support. Collective pressure, they said, can prevent unilateral actions that threaten regional security.

While emphasizing these points, the ministers underscored their commitment to upholding justice for Palestinians and preserving long-term peace across the Middle East. The statement reflects growing unity among Arab and allied nations on defending Palestinian rights and opposing illegal annexation.
