Ramadan Evenings Discussions on Economic Issues

The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) will organize four Ramadan evenings during the holy month. These evenings aim to discuss key economic challenges and issues affecting Oman’s business community. Officials, experts, and decision-makers will have the chance to share their perspectives during these important discussions.

The Chamber has a long history of hosting Ramadan evenings. These events provide a platform for fostering dialogue between the private and public sectors. They offer business owners an opportunity to present their challenges and propose solutions, in cooperation with the relevant authorities. This initiative plays an essential role in improving communication between sectors and advancing economic development.

This year, the OCCI has tailored its Ramadan evenings to focus on topics that are especially important to the current business environment. The program reflects the Chamber’s strategic goals, such as improving the business climate, attracting investments, and supporting economic diversification. These objectives aim to drive innovation in economic solutions, raise awareness about policies and legislation, and promote the growth of the private sector.

The first Ramadan evening will take place on March 10. This event will focus on Expo Japan 2025 and its significance for the private sector. The discussion will cover the importance of participating in international exhibitions, with a special focus on the Sultanate of Oman Pavilion. The evening will highlight the pavilion’s economic events and programs, while stressing the importance of private sector participation in such global events.

Moving on, the second Ramadan evening, scheduled for March 12, will address the regulation of the labor market and employment. The meeting will explore the private sector’s role in the labor market, as well as the challenges workers and employers face in Oman’s private sector. By addressing these challenges, the Chamber aims to improve the overall labor market situation in the country.

On March 17, the third Ramadan evening will delve into taxes and their impact on economic development. The discussion will focus on the role of taxes in achieving financial sustainability and supporting national projects. Additionally, experts will address how tax policies affect the business environment, economic growth, and investment in Oman.

The final Ramadan evening will be held on March 19. This session will examine the economic importance of local content. Presenters will introduce the national strategy for developing local content. They will also discuss how maximizing local content can boost Oman’s economy and contribute to the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises.

In conclusion, the OCCI’s Ramadan evenings discussions will address several pressing economic issues. By tackling these key topics, the Chamber seeks to improve the business environment and foster economic growth in Oman. These events are expected to have a significant impact on the country’s business community and its future development.
