QRCS Expands Educational Support in Afghanistan

Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has launched phase four of its project to enhance education in Afghanistan. The focus is on remote regions. In collaboration with the Afghan Welfare Society, this phase aims to further strengthen the education system. It will benefit over 1,200 students across two provinces.

With an investment of $272,880, phase four will support six schools in areas that face significant geographical and economic challenges. The initiative builds upon the success of earlier phases. It continues QRCS’s mission to provide resources and infrastructure for a better educational environment.

Key features of this phase include the provision of 54 tents for makeshift classrooms, 600 double seats, textbooks, and teaching aids. It also includes six storage containers. Additionally, every student will receive a school bag filled with essential stationery and supplies. These efforts are designed to create a safe and protected space for learning.

During the launch ceremony, parents and members of the local community expressed their deep appreciation for QRCS’s ongoing commitment. Despite the region’s challenges, QRCS’s personnel in Afghanistan remain dedicated to improving education in the most underserved areas.

QRCS’s representation office in Afghanistan aims to bridge the educational gap by meeting the immediate needs of children. Their work ensures that even children in the most remote locations have the chance to pursue an education. This will help them build a better future.

This project represents a crucial step in ensuring that all Afghan children, regardless of location, have access to quality education. It comes at a critical time when conflict, poverty, and inadequate infrastructure continue to hinder many children’s educational opportunities. QRCS remains committed to supporting Afghanistan’s education sector in the long term.
