Qatar’s Interior Minister Meets Syrian, Indonesian Officials During Global Security Forum

On Monday, Qatar’s Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, held separate talks with top officials from Syria and Indonesia. These meetings took place on the sidelines of the 2025 Global Security Forum (GSF), currently underway in Doha.

During his discussion with Syria’s Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management Raed Al Saleh, the two sides reviewed existing cooperation. They also explored practical ways to enhance bilateral efforts across emergency and disaster response fields.

Later, the minister met with Muhammad Tito Karnavian, Indonesia’s Minister of Home Affairs. Their talks focused on strengthening Qatar-Indonesia cooperation in internal security and civil protection. The two leaders also discussed various issues of shared concern, particularly in the context of regional stability and coordinated responses.

The 2025 Global Security Forum continues to provide a key platform for high-level meetings. Leaders and experts from around the world have gathered to discuss emerging challenges in international security and crisis management.

Throughout these meetings, the recurring focus remained on boosting bilateral cooperation in security affairs. Both Syria and Indonesia expressed appreciation for Qatar’s commitment to global partnerships.

As discussions progressed, officials underscored the value of joint strategies in tackling evolving threats. The meetings demonstrated Qatar’s active role in promoting international dialogue and resilience building.

The emphasis on boosting bilateral cooperation in security affairs also highlights the GSF’s broader mission—fostering collaboration among governments and institutions. With security concerns constantly shifting, such forums prove vital in shaping coordinated and long-term solutions.

By engaging constructively with regional and global partners, Qatar continues to reaffirm its leadership role in international diplomacy and security development. These meetings, focused on boosting bilateral cooperation in security affairs, reflect Qatar’s strategic vision in a complex world.
