Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Ghanem bin Shaheen bin Ghanem Al Ghanim met with several Uzbek officials during a visit to Tashkent. They discussed cooperation in religious and social fields.
He held talks with Advisor to the President of Uzbekistan and Director of the National Agency for Social Protection Mansurbek Olloyorov. Discussions focused on enhancing collaboration in social welfare areas related to Islamic work. They also talked about the exchange of institutional expertise to support joint initiatives.
The minister also met with Sodiq Toshboev, Chairman of Uzbekistan’s Committee for Religious Affairs, and officials from the Muslim Administration of Uzbekistan. The meetings explored avenues to boost bilateral cooperation in religious affairs. This included scientific and advocacy programmes, training and rehabilitation exchanges, and promoting a culture of moderation.
Both sides highlighted the importance of continued coordination to advance shared causes within the Islamic world. They also aimed to reinforce the role of religious institutions in promoting universal human values.
The visit reflects the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs’ efforts to build strategic ties with partner countries. This aligns with its mission to support Islamic values and community service.
