Qatar Strengthens Ties with Russia in Trade and Diplomacy

Doha hosted the fifth session of the Qatari-Russian Joint Committee on Trade, Economic, and Technical Cooperation on Sunday. The event aimed to strengthen bilateral ties between the two nations and expand cooperation in key sectors.

Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani co-chaired the meeting with First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia HE Denis Manturov. Both leaders emphasized the importance of enhancing economic collaboration and reinforcing diplomatic relations.

During the session, the Qatari Prime Minister welcomed the Russian delegation and highlighted the significance of continuous dialogue. He expressed confidence that the meeting would lead to stronger Qatari-Russian relations in various fields. He also reiterated Qatar’s support for all efforts aimed at achieving peace in the Russia-Ukraine conflict through diplomatic channels.

Qatar continues to advocate for peaceful solutions in international conflicts. The Prime Minister stressed the importance of cooperation to establish global stability and economic growth. He urged all parties involved in the crisis to engage in meaningful dialogue to reach a lasting resolution.

In addition to discussing regional security, the leaders focused on the situation in Gaza. The Qatari leader emphasized the urgency of implementing the Gaza ceasefire agreement. He underlined that achieving a permanent ceasefire would create opportunities for long-term peace and stability in the region.

Qatari-Russian relations remain a top priority for both countries. Officials from both sides explored ways to enhance economic, trade, and technical partnerships. They identified new areas for collaboration that could boost shared economic interests.

The meeting reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to fostering strong international partnerships. Both nations agreed to continue working together on multiple fronts, ensuring mutual economic growth and stability.

Qatar’s focus on strengthening Qatari-Russian relations was evident throughout the discussions. Both sides expressed optimism about the future of their partnership and vowed to sustain momentum in trade and diplomatic efforts.
