Qatar Showcases Cultural Excellence at Iraq International Book Fair

Qatar is showcasing its cultural presence at the sixth Iraq International Book Fair, held from December 3 to December 13. This participation demonstrates Qatar’s cultural presence while strengthening connections with the Arab and global cultural scene.

The Qatari pavilion features recent literary and intellectual works from the Ministry of Culture and several local publishing houses. Visitors can explore a variety of books, which showcase Qatari cultural presence and the richness of the country’s creative output.

Director of the Libraries Department at the Ministry of Culture and Director of the Doha International Book Fair, Jassim Ahmed Al Buainain, stated that Qatar’s participation continues its presence at major cultural events. He added that sharing knowledge with other institutions enhances collaboration across countries.

The Ministry of Culture seeks to promote Qatari cultural presence by encouraging national literature and supporting local writers. In addition, the event allows creatives to reach audiences across the Arab world and internationally.

This edition of the fair brings together hundreds of local, Arab, and international publishing houses. Furthermore, it offers a platform for authors, creators, and publishing enthusiasts to interact and exchange ideas.

In addition, the exhibition hosts cultural activities such as book signings, literary evenings, seminars, and workshops on publishing skills. Youth programs and reading initiatives encourage participation while developing cultural literacy.

Through its participation, Qatar emphasizes the value of cultural exchange. The country also highlights its literature, strengthens ties with friendly nations, and encourages reading to build knowledge.

By presenting a strong Qatari cultural presence, the Ministry ensures that Qatar remains an active participant in international cultural forums. Ultimately, the fair demonstrates that literature and intellectual exchange sustain creativity and broaden global dialogue.
