Students representing Qatar have won four medals—gold, silver, and bronze—at the 14th Arab Future Programmers Competition held in Amman, Jordan. The event took place on April 18 and 19. It was organised by the College of Information Technology at the Applied Science Private University.
Qatar’s participation, led by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, featured five student teams. These teams comprised 14 students from eight different schools across the country. They competed against 80 teams from various Arab nations.
The Qatari students qualified for the regional finals after excelling in the second edition of the National Olympiad for Programming and Artificial Intelligence. This event was held in January 2025.
In preparation for the event, the ministry organised an intensive training camp for the students. The programme included 32 hours of focused training on programming, problem-solving, and analytical skills. It aimed to equip the teams with the necessary tools to perform at a high level in regional competitions.
The strong performance highlights Qatar’s commitment to fostering technological innovation and nurturing young talent in STEM fields.
