Qatar has confirmed its ongoing commitment to providing humanitarian support for Palestinians in Gaza and across the region. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson emphasized that the country will continue offering material, moral, and political assistance to UNRWA and other UN agencies.
“We call on the international community to support UNRWA and all UN agencies in completing their missions,” the spokesperson said. “No party should obstruct their work or undermine international legitimacy.”
He also addressed the demolition of UNRWA facilities in East Jerusalem. Qatar strongly emphasizes the need to protect UNRWA operations across Palestinian territories. Such actions worsen living conditions for Palestinians and threaten international norms.
The spokesperson highlighted Qatar’s role in facilitating peace efforts, including participation in the Board of Peace and the 20-point plan proposed by the United States. Qatar signed the initial agreement in Sharm El-Sheikh and continues to actively support the second phase.
Additionally, as part of this phase, new councils have been formed to guide governance and support local populations in Gaza. Qatar’s involvement ensures the technocratic government can provide essential services efficiently. The appointment of a Qatari representative to the Gaza Executive Board reflects the country’s critical role in achieving ceasefire agreements.
Turning to Syria, the spokesperson stressed that rebuilding institutions and governance after years of conflict requires international support. Qatar encourages inclusive systems that protect rights for all citizens. “Everyone in Syria deserves equal treatment and stability,” he said.
The spokesperson also addressed regional tensions, including escalations between the United States and Iran. He reaffirmed that Qatar pursues dialogue and diplomacy to avoid conflict. The country maintains daily communication with all parties to reduce risks and protect regional security.
Moreover, Qatar has consistently supported efforts in Gaza, from mediation in hostage exchanges to humanitarian aid delivery. Its commitment extends to the ongoing Twenty-Point Plan and broader initiatives to stabilize the region.
Through these efforts, Qatar demonstrates that humanitarian support for Palestinians remains a priority. The country continues to coordinate with international partners to ensure aid reaches those in need, while also advocating for peace and stability.
Overall, Qatar’s active engagement reflects its dedication to resolving humanitarian challenges and fostering sustainable solutions. By promoting dialogue, supporting UNRWA, as well as assisting local governments, the country aims to strengthen regional stability and provide tangible support for Palestinians. Humanitarian support for Palestinians remains central to these efforts.
