Qatar is preparing for the fourth edition of Web Summit Qatar, with officials reviewing plans to expand the event’s role in supporting startups, investment, and innovation.
The Permanent Web Summit Organising Committee held its annual strategic meeting in Doha, bringing together representatives from government entities, major institutions, and the Web Summit team to discuss priorities ahead of the event scheduled for January 31 to February 3, 2027.
The meeting reviewed the growing impact of Web Summit Qatar as a platform connecting entrepreneurs, investors, and technology companies from around the world.
Since the 2025 edition, startups participating in the event’s Startup Programme have secured more than $205 million in funding, highlighting the summit’s role in linking emerging companies with global investors.
During Web Summit Qatar 2026, more than 300 companies registered with Qatar Financial Centre, contributing to increased business registrations and supporting Qatar’s growing technology ecosystem.
Officials said preparations for the 2027 edition will focus on attracting more international startups, investors, and technology leaders, while creating greater opportunities for Qatari entrepreneurs.
Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al-Thani, Chairman of the Permanent Web Summit Organising Committee, said the event has become an important platform for advancing Qatar’s digital economy and strengthening global partnerships.
Web Summit founder and CEO Paddy Cosgrave also highlighted the strong partnership with Qatar and expressed expectations for continued growth when the global technology community returns to Doha in 2027.
