Qatar Participates in GCC Investment Undersecretaries Committee Meeting

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Mohammed bin Hassan Al Malki, took part in the third meeting of the Committee of Investment Undersecretaries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States. The meeting was held in Kuwait.

The meeting focused on enhancing investment cooperation among GCC countries and strengthening partnerships with international entities. Discussions included a proposal by Kuwait to establish a specialized training center for foreign investment promotion. They also discussed the introduction of a unified licensing system for foreign companies operating within the GCC. These initiatives aim to simplify investor procedures and harmonize the regional business environment.

Participants also reviewed the concept for the upcoming Second GCC–Central Asia Investment Forum. Moreover, they discussed the outcomes of the investment working group focused on the committee’s internal structure.

The session also included a briefing on the results of the 67th GCC Trade Cooperation Committee Meeting. Additionally, there were insights from a panel held at the World Government Summit 2025 in Dubai. The panel addressed economic diversification, structural transformation, and sustainability under the GCC national visions.
