Doha, Qatar – Qatar Museums has unveiled its Spring 2025 exhibition schedule. The schedule features a dynamic lineup of art, photography, and cultural showcases across the country.
The highlight of the season is the third edition of the Tasweer Photo Festival Qatar. This biennial event celebrates photographers and photographic communities from Qatar and the West Asia and North Africa (WANA) region. This year’s theme explores the concept of belonging. There will be six exhibitions hosted in museums, galleries, and outdoor spaces throughout Doha.
One of the festival’s main attractions is To Look at the Sea is to Become What One Is. It is curated by Tasweer’s Artistic Director, Meriem Berrada. This exhibition will be displayed at the Fire Station: Artist in Residence.
A major addition to the schedule is the first large-scale presentation of Latin American art in the WANA region. Titled Latinoamericano | Modern and Contemporary Art from the Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires (Malba) and Eduardo F. Costantini Collections, this landmark exhibition is at the National Museum of Qatar. It will feature works by key Latin American artists spanning from 1900 to the present day.
Other key exhibitions include:
- Qatar: Close to My Soul – Art from the Collection of Abdulla bin Ali Al Thani. This exhibition showcases works from Qatari artists across different generations. It reflects diverse artistic styles.
- Wafa al-Hamad: Sites of Imagination. This is the first solo museum exhibition of the late artist. It features pieces from the Mathaf Permanent Collection.
Both exhibitions will be hosted at Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art.
