Qatar Foreign Policy Emphasizes International Solidarity and Global Development Partnerships

The State of Qatar reaffirmed its long-standing foreign policy, which centers on enhancing international solidarity and global cooperation.

During the 59th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, Qatar presented its vision. Mohammed Ali Al Baker, Third Secretary in the Legal Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, delivered the statement. He spoke during an interactive dialogue on human rights and international solidarity.

Al Baker highlighted that Qatar foreign policy for over four decades has prioritized development, peace, and cross-border cooperation. As part of this vision, Qatar has implemented numerous educational and development projects across continents.

According to Al Baker, international solidarity remains vital for promoting and protecting human rights globally. While national governments bear primary responsibility, he emphasized that external partnerships significantly strengthen domestic efforts.

Moreover, he underlined that global challenges today demand greater unity among nations. He urged countries to form strong development alliances. Such cooperation would bridge economic gaps, safeguard human dignity, and ensure that no community is left behind.

Al Baker explained that effective partnerships should allow for the sharing of knowledge and experience. These efforts would help reduce inequality and preserve cultures. He noted that maintaining identity across generations is essential in any national development process.

Qatar also emphasized the importance of aligning international actions with the principle of “leaving no one behind.” This concept is central to achieving long-term development goals.

Furthermore, Qatar foreign policy reflects a consistent commitment to human rights, regardless of geography or politics. The country continues to support peaceful resolutions, human rights protection, and sustainable development in every region where it operates.

Through its participation in global platforms like the Human Rights Council, Qatar advocates inclusive progress. It also encourages policies rooted in empathy, justice, and mutual benefit.

Ultimately, Qatar foreign policy represents a model that connects humanitarian support with diplomatic engagement. By fostering global partnerships, Qatar aims to strengthen international unity and build a more peaceful and equitable world.
