Qatar Digital Academy Partners with Huawei to Enhance Digital Skills for Government Employees

Qatar Digital Academy (QDA), an initiative by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), has entered into a strategic partnership with Huawei during the Web Summit Qatar 2025. The collaboration aims to provide government employees with valuable training in key digital fields such as cloud computing, information technology (IT), Internet of Things (IoT), and other emerging technologies.

The partnership agreement was signed by Duha Al Buhendi, Director of the Digital Society and Digital Competencies Department at MCIT, and Alex Dai, Executive Vice President of Huawei Gulf North. The signing ceremony also included the presence of H E Reem Al Mansoori, Assistant Undersecretary for Digital Industry Affairs at MCIT. Rico Lin, President of Huawei Gulf North Region, and other notable officials from both organizations were also present.

Duha Al Buhendi shared her thoughts on the significance of this collaboration: “This partnership with Huawei marks a key milestone for Qatar Digital Academy in empowering government employees with advanced digital skills. It aligns with the Digital Agenda 2030’s sixth pillar, which focuses on building a future-ready digital society. Our aim is to promote digital inclusion and offer top-tier educational opportunities that equip government employees with the necessary digital competencies. This initiative also contributes to the human development pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030.”

In response, Alex Dai emphasized Huawei’s commitment to developing local digital talent. He stated, “At Huawei, we are dedicated to nurturing digital talent and strengthening local ICT ecosystems. Through our collaboration with QDA, we are offering internationally recognized training programs to equip individuals with the skills needed to thrive in Qatar’s rapidly advancing digital landscape. We believe that talent is fundamental to successful digital transformation. This partnership is a significant step toward achieving that objective.”

As part of the agreement, Huawei will provide digital training courses to government employees through the Huawei Talent Platform.
