Qatar Condemns Strait Of Hormuz Ship Attacks In Iran Call

Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani held a phone call with Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to discuss rising regional tensions and recent military developments.

During the conversation, the two officials reviewed the latest developments surrounding the escalation between the United States and Iran, following tensions in the region over the past two days.

Sheikh Mohammed expressed Qatar’s condemnation of attacks targeting commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz, warning that such actions could undermine trust, threaten maritime security, and impact efforts to maintain regional stability.

The Qatari prime minister stressed the importance of dialogue and diplomacy, calling on all parties to uphold commitments under the existing memorandum of understanding and support efforts to reduce tensions.

He also reaffirmed Qatar’s support for initiatives aimed at containing the escalation and reaching a broader agreement that strengthens security and promotes long-term peace in the region.

The call comes as Gulf countries continue diplomatic efforts to encourage de-escalation and protect regional security amid growing concerns over military tensions.
