Qatar Chamber (QC) recently took part in the Manafea International Forum. It was organized by the Madinah Chamber in collaboration with the Makkah Chamber and the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD). The forum was held under the patronage of HRH Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Amir of Madinah Region. It focused on “Sustainability in Serving the Guests of God.”
Leading the QC delegation was Chairman and ICCD Vice President Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al Thani. Accompanying him were Board members Abdullah bin Mohamed Al Emadi, Abdulrahman bin Abdul Jaleel Al Abdul Ghani, and Dr. Mohamed bin Jawhar Al Mohamad.
In addition to the forum, the QC delegation attended the 38th Board of Directors meeting of the ICCD. Discussions centered on strengthening trade cooperation among Islamic nations and enhancing the private sector’s role in economic development. The meeting also reviewed trade exchange strategies within the Islamic world.
Key agenda points included monitoring the implementation of previous decisions and reviewing the 69th Finance Committee report. Additionally, preparing for the Islamic Chamber Board elections for the 2026-2030 term was discussed. Presentations highlighted the progress of the Islamic Chamber Academy. Strategies for developing an integrated halal ecosystem within the 2026-2033 framework were also presented. The goal is to establish a globally recognized halal industry that spans products and services.
Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al Thani also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU). It was between the Federation of GCC Chambers (FGCCC) and the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The agreement was signed by FGCCC Secretary General Saleh bin Hamad Al Sharqi and Islamic Chamber Secretary General Yousef Hassan Al Khalawi.
This MoU aims to enhance collaboration between the two organizations in event organization, SME support, and fostering innovation. It also aims to encourage digital transformation across GCC countries. The partnership is expected to contribute to economic growth and strengthen trade relations within the region.
