Qatar Chamber Explores Stronger Trade Relations with Portugal

Doha, Qatar

Qatar Chamber (QC) hosted a high-level trade delegation from Portugal on Monday. The delegation was led by Nuno Anahory, Board Member of the Arab-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce. It included Secretary General Hayder Al Khodairi and representatives from key Portuguese industries. The goal was to enhance economic cooperation and explore new investment opportunities between the two countries.

Eng. Ali bin Abdul Latif Al-Mesnad, Board Member of Qatar Chamber, welcomed the delegation and emphasized the steady growth of Qatar-Portugal economic ties. He reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to fostering business collaborations that serve mutual interests. He highlighted the attractive investment environment Qatar offers, including incentives such as full foreign ownership, tax exemptions, and streamlined business processes.

Encouraging Portuguese businesses to expand into Qatar, Al-Mesnad assured them of Qatar Chamber’s full support. The Chamber will facilitate partnerships and business engagements.

For his part, Nuno Anahory noted that the Portuguese delegation represented key sectors such as tourism, mining, hospitality, real estate, and legal services. They have a strong interest in exploring Qatar’s investment landscape. He also highlighted Portugal’s openness to supporting Qatari investors looking to establish a presence in the Portuguese market.

Echoing this sentiment, Hayder Al Khodairi reaffirmed the Arab-Portuguese Chamber’s commitment to deepening cooperation with Qatar Chamber. He emphasized plans to increase joint meetings and business interactions to further strengthen trade and investment relations.

The discussions concluded with a shared commitment to expanding economic collaboration, reinforcing the growing commercial ties between Qatar and Portugal.
