Qatar Calls for Collective Global Efforts to Protect Right to Education

The State of Qatar has emphasized the urgent need for unified international efforts to safeguard the right to education. This is particularly important in regions experiencing conflict and instability.

In a statement delivered by the Permanent Representative of Qatar to UNESCO, HE Dr. Nasser bin Hamad Al Hanzab, Qatar strongly condemned the targeting of educational and cultural institutions. This is especially relevant in Palestine, by the Israeli occupation.

Dr. Al Hanzab stressed that protecting the right to education is a foundational step toward achieving peace and stability worldwide. He underlined Qatar’s active role in partnering with United Nations agencies and relevant international stakeholders. They prioritize education in global agendas.

He also pointed to Qatar’s numerous initiatives and programs aimed at promoting access to education. These efforts reinforce its importance in humanitarian and development contexts.
