Qatar and Saudi Arabia Discuss Regional Tensions

Foreign ministers from Qatar and Saudi Arabia have held discussions over the phone on developments in the Middle East, focusing on regional tensions and ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing escalation.

According to official statements, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan reviewed recent regional developments, including the wider impact of the US–Iran conflict.

The two sides also discussed efforts to ease tensions across the region, with emphasis on supporting mediation initiatives and encouraging dialogue between relevant parties to prevent further escalation.

Qatar, Saudi Arabia discuss efforts to ease Middle East tensions during the call, with both governments stressing the importance of coordinated diplomatic engagement to strengthen regional stability and security.

Qatari officials said the talks highlighted the need for constructive responses to mediation efforts, aiming to address underlying causes of instability through peaceful negotiation and long-term agreements.

Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry also confirmed the call, stating that both ministers exchanged views on developments affecting regional security and reviewed bilateral relations between the two Gulf states.

Beyond regional security issues, the two ministers also touched on ways to strengthen cooperation between their countries, reflecting continued dialogue between Gulf Cooperation Council members on shared political and economic interests.
