Qatar and China Call for Middle East De-escalation Amid Regional Tensions

Qatar and China emphasized the importance of Middle East de-escalation in a phone call addressing regional security. The discussion focused on preventing further conflict and promoting peaceful solutions.

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Mohammed Al Khulaifi received a call from Chinese Government Special Envoy Zhai Jun. They discussed the latest military escalation in the region and its serious effects on international security and stability.

During the conversation, Al Khulaifi reiterated Qatar’s condemnation of Iranian attacks on Qatari territory, describing them as unacceptable under any circumstances. He also highlighted Qatar’s consistent efforts to remain neutral in regional conflicts. Furthermore, Qatar has actively facilitated dialogue between Iran and the international community to promote peaceful resolutions.

The Chinese envoy expressed solidarity with Qatar and stressed the urgent need for Middle East de-escalation. He called for a return to diplomatic channels and peaceful solutions to avoid further conflicts.

Both parties discussed ways to resolve disputes peacefully and strengthen regional stability. They agreed that proactive diplomatic measures are essential to prevent escalation. The conversation also underscored the importance of international cooperation in maintaining security in the Gulf and wider Middle East region.

Al Khulaifi emphasized that Qatar will continue supporting dialogue-based initiatives and working closely with global partners to ensure peace. Meanwhile, China reaffirmed its commitment to facilitating Middle East de-escalation and encouraging peaceful negotiations among conflicting parties.

The discussion marks a significant diplomatic effort, reflecting growing concern over rising tensions and their implications for regional economies, energy security, and humanitarian conditions. Analysts note that such coordination between Qatar and China could set the stage for broader diplomatic engagement with other countries in the region.

The call also highlighted the ongoing international focus on stability in the Gulf amid heightened military activity, emphasizing the necessity for calm and cooperation among states.
