Qatar Chamber (QC) welcomed a high-level delegation from Armenia to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in tourism and investment, with a focus on encouraging mutual business opportunities and increasing bilateral travel.
The Armenian delegation, led by Lusine Gevorgyan, Chairman of the Tourism Committee at Armenia’s Ministry of Economy, met with Sheikh Hamad bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Thani, QC Board Member and Chairman of the Chamber’s Tourism Committee. Also in attendance was Armenian Ambassador to Qatar, HE Tigran Gevorgyan.
Discussions centered on enhancing ties between Qatari and Armenian private sectors, especially in the tourism industry. Officials explored investment incentives provided by Armenia to attract Qatari investors and reviewed opportunities for business collaboration across sectors such as hospitality, infrastructure, and leisure.
Sheikh Hamad emphasized the strong and growing relationship between both nations, proposing the creation of a joint business council composed of Qatari and Armenian entrepreneurs to drive forward practical partnerships. Such a council will increase mutual visits, build strategic cooperation, and unlock new business avenues, he said.
Gevorgyan expressed Armenia’s keen interest in boosting tourist arrivals from Qatar and in welcoming Qatari investments in tourism-related sectors. She extended an invitation to Qatari investors to visit Armenia and participate in economic and tourism events, including the Armenian Touristic Fair in Yerevan this November.
Both sides agreed on the potential to significantly enhance tourism flows and business collaboration through shared initiatives and stronger communication channels.
