Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani met with Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani on Saturday. The discussion focused on national issues and the ongoing implementation of the government program across various sectors.
According to the Prime Minister’s Media Office, Al-Sudani highlighted the urgency of enforcing joint agreements. He emphasized that recent amendments to the Federal Budget Law, approved by the Council of Representatives, serve the national interest. These measures are designed to boost Iraq’s economy and fulfill the needs of its people.
Strengthening Iraq’s economy remained a key focus during the meeting. Al-Sudani stressed the importance of resuming oil production in the Kurdistan Region. He urged oil companies to restart operations and restore exports through the Ceyhan port in Türkiye without further delays.
Barzani assured Al-Sudani of his commitment to working closely with the federal government. He emphasized the need for continuous coordination to improve services and enhance economic growth. Both leaders agreed that strong cooperation is essential for stability and progress.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed that enforcing agreements between the central and regional governments will strengthen Iraq’s economy. He underscored that stability in the oil sector plays a major role in national development.
