Media City Qatar has reported that over 100 companies registered with its platform during Web Summit Qatar 2025. The event took place from February 23 to 26, further solidifying Qatar’s expanding media ecosystem.
The registrations were facilitated through a partnership with the Qatar Financial Center (QFC). It was formalized under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in January 2024. This collaboration streamlines the registration process for media companies, enabling them to operate under approved activities while benefitting from QFC’s support.
Eng. Jassim Mohamed Al Khori, CEO of Media City Qatar, commented, “The strong interest from companies at Web Summit Qatar 2025 reflects the growing appeal of Qatar’s media sector. Additionally, it highlights the strength of our ever-expanding ecosystem. By broadening our network, we are contributing to the realization of Qatar National Vision 2030.”
At the summit, Media City Qatar also played a pivotal role by sponsoring the Media Village, a hub where over 600 international journalists and industry leaders gathered to exchange ideas. Demonstrating its commitment to advancing the sector, Media City Qatar signed an MoU with Huawei on February 24. This aims to develop a cutting-edge smart media campus.
Media City Qatar reaffirmed its dedication to supporting Qatar’s media industry by fostering innovation. They aim to attract global partnerships and create opportunities for both emerging and established players.
