Oman’s Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has removed a quantity of banned tobacco and vaping products from a commercial outlet in North Al Batinah as part of its ongoing campaign to strengthen market oversight.
Inspectors discovered the prohibited items during a routine inspection, finding they were being stored, displayed and sold despite regulations banning their trade. The seized products included 123 packs of prohibited cigarettes, 17 electronic cigarettes and 10 vaping accessories.
The authority said the operation reflects its broader strategy to prevent banned goods from reaching consumers and to curb commercial practices that violate consumer protection laws.
Officials added that inspection teams continue to monitor businesses across Oman to ensure compliance with national regulations, with a particular focus on products that could pose risks to public health and consumer safety.
The CPA urged traders to comply with the country’s consumer protection rules and warned that enforcement campaigns will continue. Consumers were also encouraged to report suspected violations through the authority’s dedicated hotline.
