Oman employment progress reached a key milestone in the first half of 2025. The Ministry of Labour announced the creation of 12,936 jobs during this period. These figures cover both public and private sectors and reflect 38 percent of the ministry’s yearly target.

Specifically, the public sector offered 2,316 jobs to Omani nationals. Meanwhile, the private sector contributed a larger share with 10,620 positions. These roles span multiple industries and skill levels.

In addition to employment, training also played a major role. The ministry reported 4,292 training opportunities secured so far this year. Of these, 473 are based in the public sector. The remaining 3,819 training roles were provided by private organizations.

By midyear, the Ministry created 17,228 total opportunities. This includes both employment and training roles. Consequently, Oman employment progress now stands at a 38.28 percent achievement rate.

Moreover, the Ministry highlighted the broader scope of workforce placement. In total, 35,807 employment opportunities were recorded. This number includes 17,228 first-time job opportunities and 18,579 positions for individuals with prior work experience.

Officials emphasized the importance of these results for national workforce development. The Ministry of Labour remains committed to expanding job creation across both sectors. Continued collaboration with private companies and public institutions supports this strategy.

Furthermore, the Ministry designed the training programs to increase skill readiness. These efforts aim to meet labor market needs and improve the employability of young Omanis. The Ministry integrates employment with training to ensure that workers are well-prepared.

The Ministry also noted its plan to enhance placement services. Future initiatives will focus on matching candidates with suitable roles. The Ministry encourages employers to participate in programs that support national employment goals.

As Oman employment progress continues, the Ministry urges jobseekers to stay engaged. It also calls on institutions to maintain support for local workforce development. These efforts contribute to building a resilient and dynamic national economy.
