Northern Governorate Promotes Health Awareness on World Health Day

The Northern Governorate hosted a health event to celebrate World Health Day. This initiative aims to raise health awareness and promote wellness among employees. It aligns with the Governorate’s strategy to become a “healthy governorate” under the Healthy Cities Program. The event was held in collaboration with KIMS Health and Royal Bahrain Hospital.

Mr. Ali Abdulhussain Al Asfoor, the Governor of the Northern Governorate, stressed the importance of this event. He explained that it is part of a larger political initiative to improve life quality in the region. The Governorate is committed to promoting health as a fundamental part of its development plan. By raising awareness, the Northern Governorate empowers employees and the local community to prioritize their well-being.

This event highlights Bahrain’s political commitment to improving public health. Dr. Ahmed Jawahery, a key figure in the event, also played a significant role. He serves on the Supreme Committee for Healthy Cities and chairs the Board of Directors for KIMS Health and Royal Bahrain Hospital. His involvement underscores the importance of government-private sector collaboration in advancing national health objectives.

The health day offered several free medical services, including blood pressure and blood sugar measurements. Participants also received tests for liver function, thyroid health, and other key indicators. Additionally, health consultations provided practical advice on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. These services reflect the Northern Governorate’s focus on preventative healthcare, supporting both individual well-being and national development.

Mr. Al Asfoor highlighted the value of partnerships between government institutions and the private sector. He believes that such collaborations are key to achieving Bahrain’s public health goals. Furthermore, these partnerships help the Northern Governorate set an example for the rest of the country in terms of health promotion.

By organizing this event, the Northern Governorate demonstrates its commitment to public health. The initiative not only promotes individual wellness but also contributes to the wider goal of national development. The event marks an important step in Bahrain’s ongoing efforts to create a healthier, more informed society. It shows that through strong political leadership and effective partnerships, the government can positively impact citizens’ lives.
