Makkah Deputy Emir Prince Saud bin Mishaal has received newly appointed Jeddah Mayor Ehsan Bafaqeeh at the governorate headquarters, where they discussed municipal priorities and future development plans for the city.
Prince Saud congratulated Bafaqeeh on his royal appointment and wished him success in serving Jeddah and supporting the leadership’s vision for the city.
During the meeting, the two reviewed key municipal matters and discussed plans aimed at improving services and advancing Jeddah’s development.
Bafaqeeh expressed his appreciation to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their confidence, describing the position as a responsibility that requires dedication and commitment.
He said he would build on the achievements of previous mayors and work with municipality teams to enhance services and meet the expectations of residents.
Bafaqeeh also praised the efforts of former Mayor Saleh Al-Turki and emphasized the importance of continued development in Jeddah, which he described as a city with strategic importance.
The new mayor brings extensive experience from both the public and private sectors. He previously served as governor of the General Authority for State Properties and held senior positions in investment, finance, and industrial development.
During his career, Bafaqeeh contributed to expanding industrial capacity through public-private partnerships and received recognition for excellence in government finance.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from Westminster College in the United States and has completed executive programs at international institutions.
