Doha, Qatar – Qatar Gas Transport Company (Nakilat), a global leader in LNG shipping and maritime transportation, has launched construction on six advanced gas carriers at the HD Hyundai Samho (HSHI) shipyard in South Korea. This milestone marks a significant step in Nakilat’s strategic fleet expansion. It ensures the company meets the growing demand for safe and efficient gas transport.
Senior officials from Nakilat and HD Hyundai Samho, along with distinguished guests, attended the steel-cutting ceremony to mark the official start of construction. The new vessels include two state-of-the-art LNG carriers, each with a capacity of 174,000 cubic meters. There are also four modern LPG/ammonia gas carriers, each capable of transporting 88,000 cubic meters. These vessels are scheduled for delivery between 2026 and 2027.
