Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has expanded its in-country scholarship track. It now includes the University of Doha for Science and Technology’s (UDST) Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes. These programs focus on Teaching STEM and TVET. This development falls under the “Tomouh” programme, aimed at strengthening Qatar’s capacity in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and vocational education.
The announcement was made during a press conference held at the UDST campus. The event was attended by UDST President Dr. Salem bin Nasser Al Nuaemi, Assistant Undersecretary for Higher Education Affairs at the MoEHE Dr. Hareb Al Jabri, Director of the Scholarships Department Noora Mohammed Al Ansari, and UDST’s Manager of Student Services Hamad Al Hajri.
Speaking on the occasion, Al Hajri highlighted the strategic importance of the initiative in building a knowledge-based economy. “The inclusion of our STEM education programmes in the national scholarship pathway reflects a shared commitment to educational excellence and national development,” he said.
He added that UDST remains committed to preparing national talent and future educators. They aim to meet the evolving demands of both local and global educational landscapes.
The move reinforces Qatar’s long-term vision of fostering innovation and self-sufficiency through high-quality education and capacity building in critical sectors.
