Ministry of Labour Unveils National Plan to Combat Human Trafficking 2024-2026

Doha – The Ministry of Labour, through the National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking (NCCHT), has launched the National Plan to Combat Human Trafficking 2024-2026. This initiative aims to unify efforts across governmental institutions and civil society organizations. It seeks to eradicate all forms of human trafficking and implement effective measures for its prevention.

The plan is structured around four key pillars. The first focuses on prevention by strengthening legal frameworks, policies, and strategies to eliminate human trafficking and related exploitation. The second ensures protection and humanitarian assistance, providing mechanisms to safeguard victims, support their recovery, and uphold their rights.

The third pillar emphasizes prosecution, calling for thorough investigations and stricter penalties for offenders. It also calls for enhanced law enforcement measures. The fourth pillar promotes national, regional, and international cooperation. It reinforces partnerships with relevant organizations to bolster collective efforts against human trafficking.

The launch of this plan underscores Qatar’s unwavering commitment to combating human trafficking. It aligns with Islamic law, the constitution, and national legislation. It also reinforces the country’s dedication to protecting human dignity and ensuring the rights of all individuals are upheld.
