The Ministry of Interior has announced its security plan for the upcoming national holiday celebrations, which includes measures to ensure the safety and smooth flow of activities. The plan involves securing key areas and main roads, while also implementing restrictions to maintain public order, particularly by prohibiting marches on highways and any actions that may obstruct traffic.
As part of the security plan, the Ministry has deployed an 8,000-strong force, consisting of 900 patrols, along with female police officers, to help manage the crowds and oversee the celebrations. The plan will be refined and finalized in the coming days by the Ministry’s leadership team, ensuring that every aspect of security is addressed, and tasks are properly assigned across various sectors.
Key locations to be secured include Al-Khairan, Al-Wafra, Kabd, Al-Sabiya, Jaber Bridge, Al-Abdali Farms, and Arabian Gulf Street. Authorities have made it clear that no marches will be allowed on highways, and there will be zero tolerance for actions that block traffic or disrupt public order.
Additionally, the Ministry has enforced a ban on the spraying of water, foam, and other similar substances during the celebrations. Anyone caught violating this rule will face legal consequences, including fines and the potential confiscation of their vehicles.
Last year’s experience demonstrated the importance of citizens and residents cooperating with security personnel to maintain order and reduce accidents. The Ministry encourages everyone to celebrate responsibly and in compliance with the laws to create an atmosphere of joy and festivity during the national holiday.
In a separate initiative, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has also issued a ban on the sale and circulation of water pistols and water-filled balloons between December and March each year, as part of their efforts to ensure public safety during the holiday season.
