Doha – Lillia, a pioneering AI startup focused on chronic disease management, has launched a cutting-edge platform to support individuals living with diabetes and related conditions.
At Web Summit Qatar 2025, Lillia announced it had secured a $1.7 million grant from the Qatar Research, Development, and Innovation (QRDI) Council. This grant will help develop the GCC’s first digital twin for chronic conditions, starting with diabetes.
“Diabetes affects over 500 million people worldwide. However, with the right interventions, it can be prevented, reversed, or effectively managed,” said Sujit Chakrabarty, Lillia’s Founder and CEO. “Our AI-driven platform provides continuous, adaptive care to drive lasting lifestyle changes.”
Lillia integrates AI technology with human expertise. It leverages psychologists, nutritionists, and doctors to provide hyper-personalized care journeys based on an individual’s metabolism and lifestyle.
The company also unveiled its AI-powered digital twin, designed to enhance real-time risk monitoring, precision medication, and predictive healthcare.
QRDI Council’s Director of Innovation Development, Nada Al-Olaqi, emphasized the significance of this milestone:
“By supporting Lillia through our Technology Development Grant program, we are fostering healthcare innovation. We are advancing Qatar’s position as a leader in digital transformation.”
Since 2020, Lillia has supported over 40,000 individuals across the GCC and India. They have collaborated with 20 institutional partners in healthcare, insurance, and the public sector. The company plans to expand across MENA and Southeast Asia in the next two years to strengthen its global impact.
