The first phase of Kuwait’s Palace of Justice, the largest judicial complex in the Middle East, has been officially inaugurated, marking a major milestone in the country’s ongoing development efforts. Spanning approximately 210,000 square meters, the first phase includes 68 courtrooms, including six media halls, and features a total of 184,000 square meters dedicated to secure office and support spaces.
This pioneering project is a key element of Kuwait Vision 2035 and the New Kuwait initiative, aimed at modernizing the country’s judicial infrastructure. It is designed to support the growing demand for justice services while reflecting Kuwait’s national identity and adhering to international standards.
The Palace of Justice was fully designed by the Arab Engineering Consulting Office, a Kuwaiti consultancy. This local firm incorporated a creative vision inspired by the country’s culture while ensuring that the complex met the highest standards in design and functionality.
Construction began in the first quarter of 2019, utilizing advanced fast-track construction methods to achieve exceptional completion rates. The complex has earned global acclaim for its design, winning several prestigious awards, including the Project of the Year for the Middle East and North Africa at the MEED Projects Awards 2024. It was also awarded Building of the Year at the national level and recognized with the Regional Winner Award.
With its state-of-the-art facilities, the new Palace of Justice is expected to serve as a model of judicial modernization and efficiency in the region.
