Kuwaiti-Iraqi Joint Technical Legal Committee Holds Eighth Meeting on Maritime Border Demarcation

The eighth meeting of the Kuwaiti-Iraqi Joint Technical Legal Committee focused on the completion of the maritime border demarcation between the two countries was held on Sunday.

The meeting was led by Ambassador Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Deputy Foreign Minister of Kuwait, who headed the Kuwaiti delegation. The Iraqi delegation was led by Dr. Essam Al-Saadi, Deputy National Security Advisor of Iraq.

The two sides discussed the committee’s agenda, which aims to finalize the demarcation of the maritime borders, particularly beyond the 162nd landmark. This ongoing cooperation between Kuwait and Iraq is essential for resolving outstanding border issues and ensuring peaceful, clear delineation of territorial waters.
