Kuwait to Compete at World Robotics Championship in Dallas with Nine Student Teams

Kuwait is set to showcase its emerging tech talent on the global stage. Nine student teams will prepare to compete in the World Robotics Championship in Dallas, United States, from May 6 to 14. The teams consist of 40 male and female students representing various educational stages, including elementary, middle, high school, and university levels.

These teams earned their place after excelling in the Kuwait National Robotics Championship. The national event was organized by the Department of Computer Science at Kuwait University’s College of Science. It involved partnership with the Ministry of Education and the Public Authority for Youth. Strategic backing from the private sector further strengthened the initiative.

More than 700 students from across the country competed in the national championship. In the lead-up to the global competition, students participated in months of intensive training sessions held at Kuwait University.

Dr. Noura Al-Jeri, Executive Director of the Championship and faculty member at the university’s Computer Science Department, emphasized that this participation aims to sharpen students’ abilities in artificial intelligence, programming, and engineering design. The initiative also encourages collaboration and creative problem-solving. These are core values that define future tech innovators.

Kuwait’s presence at the championship reflects a national commitment to fostering young talent. It promotes STEM education and builds global competitiveness. The event in Dallas not only provides a platform for students to compete, but it also allows them to engage with peers from around the world.

Through initiatives like this, empowering youth through innovation continues to strengthen Kuwait’s educational and technological development. As the competition nears, hopes remain high for the Kuwaiti teams to make a mark on the global robotics stage. This showcases that empowering youth through innovation is more than a vision; it is a national priority.
