Kuwait Scores Big at Arab Media Excellence Ceremony

Kuwait celebrated a significant achievement as Kuwait Television and the Development Sector of the Ministry of Information received top recognition at the Arab League’s Media Excellence Award ceremony. The event concluded the 55th session of the Council of Arab Information Ministers in Cairo and highlighted the importance of strengthening Arab media unity from many angles.

The ceremony honored outstanding work in audio, visual, digital, and print media across the region. Kuwait Television earned the award for Best Television Report for a feature about youth and their connection to social media. Moreover, Iraq Television secured the award for Best Documentary on digital youth, which added strong variety to the celebration.

In the radio category, Algerian Radio won for a report covering youth, social media, and artificial intelligence. Egypt’s Youth and Sports Radio also earned recognition for an awareness report aimed at young listeners. Print media gained attention as an Emirati journalist won for Best Investigative Report. The Jordanian newspaper Al-Dustour earned the award for Best Opinion Column about the effects of hate speech on youth.

Digital media achievements also took center stage. The Saudi Press Agency received the award for Best Photograph. Bandari Habram secured the award for Best Digital Investigation about youth media sources. Additionally, a Palestinian creator earned recognition for Best Digital Video. The Ministerial Council also honored several regional media leaders for long-standing contributions that shaped the growth of Arab media.

During the session, Kuwait’s Minister of Information and Culture delivered a clear message about the need for stronger cooperation in the media field. He encouraged regional partners to support truth, credibility, and stability. He also called for a strategic vision that guides future media efforts while strengthening Arab media unity across institutions and platforms.

The Ministry of Information also organized a special event marking Kuwait as the Arab Media Capital for 2025. Many Arab media ministers and executives attended the gathering. The ministry announced a year-long program that will showcase Kuwait’s achievements and highlight major regional collaborations.

The minister also discussed the Arab Media Strategy for Media and Information Literacy. This strategy aims to equip youth with essential skills that help them engage responsibly with modern media. It also supports national identity and encourages development-focused communication. These goals align strongly with Kuwait’s commitment to strengthening Arab media unity and promoting a cooperative media environment.

Kuwait’s delegation participated actively in all discussions. Their engagement demonstrated a clear effort to improve Arab media through steady collaboration. The session closed with broad agreement on the need for unified action, shared goals, and continuous growth across regional media institutions.
