Kuwait Launches Major Security Crackdown: Warehouses Busted, Drugs Seized in Nationwide Sweep

A major Kuwait security crackdown is now underway. This intensive campaign started on August 24th. It will continue through August 29th. The Interior Ministry is leading this nationwide effort. Their goal is to safeguard public safety absolutely. They also aim to uphold the rule of law firmly.

Therefore, security patrols have spread across all six governorates. They set up checkpoints on main streets. They also monitor side streets diligently. These measures specifically monitor traffic violations. They also aim to curb reckless driving effectively. Furthermore, they address behaviors that endanger lives and property. The ministry urges everyone to cooperate fully. They stress that compliance is a collective responsibility.

In a significant raid, security forces targeted a Rai warehouse. This site supplied illegal alcohol factories. It contained 340 plastic containers of chemicals. Each container held 25 liters. The chemicals were both hazardous and flammable. They were stored in extremely unsafe conditions. This posed severe risks of fire and explosions. It also risked toxic gas leaks. The warehouse linked to an Egyptian national abroad. Legal procedures have now begun against those responsible.

Simultaneously, drug control units made a massive seizure. They found 34 kg of narcotics. This included 30 kg of chemical substances. It also contained 3 kg of shabu. Additionally, they seized 1 kg of hashish. They confiscated 10,000 Lyrica capsules as well. Authorities also found two unlicensed firearms. They seized ammunition and sensitive scales too. The main suspect is a non-Kuwaiti individual. He was arrested after hiding contraband in a vehicle. An accomplice, also a non-Kuwaiti fugitive, was later summoned. He confessed to trafficking openly.

The ministry reaffirmed its strong commitment. They will intensify efforts against drug trafficking. They will also combat illegal alcohol production aggressively. Their campaigns will target all activities threatening public safety. They stated clearly they will not tolerate any threats. These efforts will continue to dismantle illegal networks. They are determined to maintain national stability.

Separately, the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) issued a urgent warning. They alerted the public about a new scam. Fraudsters send money via the WAMD payment service. Then they call the receiver to claim a mistake. They ask for the money to be sent to another number. The CBK advised everyone to never transfer money to unknown accounts. They emphasized that the number could be for money laundering. This warning is part of the broader Kuwait security crackdown. It aims to protect financial security alongside public safety.

This comprehensive Kuwait security crackdown demonstrates a multi-faceted approach. It addresses physical threats like drugs and chemicals. It also tackles modern financial scams. The government is showing its determination to protect all aspects of citizen well-being.
