Kuwait Declares Sovereignty a Red Line Amid Regional Attacks

Kuwait’s sovereignty remains a non-negotiable priority, authorities stressed during a national address following recent attacks. The announcement highlighted Kuwait’s firm stance on defending its territory, people, and national interests. Officials emphasized that any aggression against the country would face decisive measures to protect Kuwait’s sovereignty and ensure public safety.

The government condemned a recent attack by a neighboring Muslim country, which Kuwait considers a friend, despite repeated warnings. The assault targeted Kuwaiti airspace, territory, and civil infrastructure, resulting in casualties among armed forces personnel, injuries to citizens, residents, and foreign staff, and the tragic death of a child.

Officials stated that these attacks violate international norms, United Nations charters, and good-neighbor principles. They underscored Kuwait’s full right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter. Furthermore, authorities vowed to take all necessary steps to safeguard Kuwait’s borders, critical facilities, and national stability.

The armed forces received particular praise for their unwavering professionalism and readiness. Authorities described them as a “solid shield against aggressors,” highlighting their commitment to defending the nation. Leaders also pointed out that attacks on neighboring countries threaten regional security. Therefore, the Gulf Cooperation Council’s collective safety remains a shared responsibility.

Citizens and residents were urged to remain vigilant, stay informed, and trust official information sources. Authorities highlighted that public awareness, societal cohesion, and cooperation with government institutions strengthen national resilience and prevent misinformation.

During the address, officials linked the significance of the holy month of Ramadan to societal values. They encouraged patience, discipline, compassion, and unity to maintain national progress and peace amid crises. Leaders stressed that ethical principles must guide citizens to support one another and the nation.

Kuwait acknowledged the solidarity and support voiced by neighboring countries. Officials described this backing as a reflection of enduring regional unity and cooperation. Finally, prayers were offered for the martyrs, the injured, and all residents, asking for protection, mercy, and continued national security.
