The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a strong statement on Monday condemning what it described as racist and inflammatory calls by extremist settler groups affiliated with the Zionist occupation, who have incited the demolition of Al-Aqsa Mosque to build a so-called temple in its place.
The ministry called such provocations a “blatant violation of Islamic sanctities” and a “deep affront to the sentiments of Muslims worldwide.” It also warned of serious consequences, especially as these calls coincide with increasing incursions and violations at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.
Labeling the developments as a “dangerous and unprecedented escalation” in the occupied Palestinian territories, the statement condemned continued Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip. Kuwait reaffirmed its firm rejection of all unilateral actions by the Israeli occupation and emphasized the importance of preserving the legal and historical status of Jerusalem and its holy sites.
The ministry called on the international community to take urgent action to halt these violations and protect Islamic sanctities in line with international law and relevant United Nations resolutions. Kuwait reiterated its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and the right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Meanwhile, Gaza’s civil defense agency reported that Israeli airstrikes have killed at least 25 people since dawn on Sunday, including women and children. According to agency spokesman Mahmud Bassal, the attacks resumed on March 18 after a two-month ceasefire and have continued across the Gaza Strip, including a drone strike in eastern Rafah that killed five civilians.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed on Saturday to continue military operations in Gaza, rejecting Hamas’s demands for a ceasefire and troop withdrawal. “We are at a critical stage of the campaign,” Netanyahu said. “At this point, we need patience and determination to win.”
