Kuwait and Mercedes-Benz Celebrate 50 Years of Strategic Partnership in Germany

Representing His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah arrived in Germany on Monday to attend the 50th anniversary celebration of the strategic partnership between Kuwait and Mercedes-Benz AG.

The commemorative event is being held in Stuttgart, the hub of Germany’s automotive industry and the headquarters of Mercedes-Benz. Upon his arrival, His Highness the Prime Minister was welcomed by Kuwait’s Ambassador to Germany Reem Mohammad Al-Khaled, Consul General in Frankfurt Adel Ahmad Al-Ghunaiman, and senior diplomatic staff.

In remarks during his visit, Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah emphasized the long-standing and mutually beneficial relationship between Kuwait and Germany. He hailed the partnership as a testament to the deep trust and cooperation between the two nations and expressed optimism about expanding collaboration in various fields.

The event also marks five decades of investment by the Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA) in Mercedes-Benz, symbolizing a successful alliance grounded in economic partnership and strategic vision.

German Ambassador to Kuwait Von Reibnitz highlighted the strength of Kuwaiti-German relations, praising the shared achievements and looking ahead to continued joint efforts in addressing global challenges. With a smile, he added, “And of course, I will continue to drive a Kuwaiti-German car!”

The milestone reflects Kuwait’s enduring commitment to international economic partnerships and the growing significance of German-Kuwaiti ties in both the automotive and investment sectors.
